Adolph Kiefer came to UT after winning an Olympic Gold in the1936 Olympics. Owned every backstroke and 3 stroke IM World record for 15 years.  Left Austin to become the officer in charge of all swimming operations with the US Navy during WWII.. Started the world’s largest swim supply company, Adolph Kiefer and Associates. Invented numerous products that revolutionized competitive swimming.
