Reese will embark on his third Olympic head swim coaching assignment in 2008, after serving at the helm of the U.S. Men’s Olympic Swimming Team in both 2004 and 1992. He was also a three-time Olympic assistant swim coach, in 2000, 1996 and 1988.
“Eddie Reese is without a doubt the best coach in America, if not the world,” Schubert said. “No coach in recent memory has had three world record holders and three Olympic gold medalists in the same program. His job at the 2004 Olympics in Athens as the men’s team head coach, and the success he’s had since, made him the hands-down choice to lead our men’s team in Beijing.”

Crocker said he's remaining in town in part because he wants the Omaha pool to be new and exciting when he goes to the trials.
"There are pros and cons either way," Crocker said of the decision not to go to the Omaha test run. "I kind of like the idea of being home three weeks before the big meet, the big show." Reese saw the Omaha facilities, minus the pool, last summer and doesn't anticipate any problems at the trials. "They've got it all right," Reese said. "It's going to a great, great meet.”
While Reese will stay in Austin, his longtime assistant, Kris Kubik, will be in Omaha checking out hotel accommodations and restaurants where a large group of swimmers can grab something quick and healthy to eat. Also making the trip to Nebraska are swimmers Neil Walker, Dale Rogers and Eric Shanteau….”
