The 2008 U.S. Masters Swimming National Coach of the Year, Susan Ingraham has coached scores of athletes for more than 45 years. Shortly after joining the University of Arizona, where she was an all-American and scholarship swimmer, Ingraham began coaching at a local swim program. It would be the start of an incredible career molding swimmers.

Her national accomplishments kicked off with the founding of Masters of South Texas (MOST) in San Antonio. Starting with “zero” swimmers in the first two weeks, the program grew into producing six world record holders, 16 USMS national champions, 21 World Championships Iron Man qualifiers, 43 Masters all-Americans, and 105 nationally ranked top-ten swimmers. The club has finished in the top ten at USMS Nationals six times in the past 15 years. Masters of South Texas was honored in being named the 2022 USMS National Club of the Year.

In 2000, Ingraham was named the head swim coach for USA Modern Pentathlon National Team, which sent three athletes to the Olympics, including the women's silver medalist. Ingraham also has a long history of training open water athletes, including several internationally ranked triathletes. She was on the team that developed the USMS coach's certification program curriculum and stroke technique instruction. She has also hosted and organized a huge number of USMS events including the 2015 USMS Spring National Championships and the 2021 USMS National Open Water Championships.

Ingraham was honored with the 2017 Jesse Coon Legacy Award for her volunteer spirit, passion, and inspiration towards her fellow swimmers. She contributes a tremendous amount at the age group level, working as the head coach for the Alamo Area JCC Age Group Program, San Antonio Summer League, Clark High School boys and girls swimming and water polo, St. George Middle School Swim Team, and the San Antonio Maccabi Swim Team. She recently started a swim club program at Trinity University for those still interested in competing but not on the school swim team.

Along with her accomplishments as a coach, Ingraham has a great deal of personal achievements in the water as well. Her personal swimming achievements include being ranked top ten nationally in 176 individual events and 79 relays since 2004, ranked top ten in the world 14 times, national record holder in the LCM 800 free relay, and high point age group winner at the USA Masters Games. Ingraham has been a gold medalist and national record holder for National Senior Games since 2011, was the gold medalist at 2019 USMS National Ultra-Long Open Water Championships (7 Mile) and gold medalist at 2021 USMS National Middle Distance Open Water Championships (5K). In 2021, Ingraham had the fastest time in the United States in two events, earning all-American status.
